This project is based on the text Style and Epoch by Moisei Ginzburg, which was published in 1923. Since then book haven’t be republished.
Ginzburg presents his own view about the problem of historicity. Author accentuates the steps of style’s evolution, which include birth, maturity and withering. Structural clarity acts as the main option of architecture in its early period of existence. But then it blurs and design principles blend.
Book is illustrated with the reprints of pages from original issue. And also it has a special part with the visual typology of post-war architecture with the examples of soviet constructivist and modernist buildings.
