This concept actually started as a watercolour painting I had done in 2018. At the time I enjoyed working with greens and pinks immensely and I was also painting spiders everywhere. I loved the juxtaposition of the bubblegum like hair and the sharp, rigidness of the black widow so I decided to make a digital version.
