Souvenir map of Georgetown
Walking map for the merchants of Georgetown, Washington USA
I collaborated with promoter Larry Reid on creating a walking map for the Georgetown Merchants Association.
It was immediately obvious to us that the map should have the look and feel of a weathered 60's gas station
road map.

Front and back panels. The map is specifically designed to lure folks from downtown Seattle to Georgetown's bars, restaurants, shops and gallery spaces. The transportation map had to be streamlined and legible.
Front panel detail. The "Hat n' Boots" gas station was a famous Georgetown landmark for decades, but it finally closed in 1988. The hat and the boots were eventually moved to Oxbow Park in Georgetown and restored to their original granduer.

Interior panels. The layout is based on an old Texaco road atlas that I covet. Larry wrote all of the text.
