TLESK
Type Family | By Amir Mahdi Moslehi

One year ago, Arjang Aghajari, CEO and founder of Tlesk records offered me and my coworker in Markazi Studio Saeid Forootan, to design a visual identity for Telsk records and also a cover for one of their music albums.

We all decided to design a type family for titles of the music albums. When I was listening to the track “Qanun” in the album “Taghha-ye Zarbi-e Baqdad” (the first music album of Tlesk), it brought the idea of hot sunlight of Khuzestan, in my mind. Khuzestan is a province in Iran, in which many people speak Arabic language instead of Persian.

Tlesk typeface is shaped in the sprit of the Ruqah calligraphic style. Ruqah is a versatile style which could be used in running text for either Arabic or Persian.
Tlesk which means grapes in Persian literature, is a modern type family in eight weights. The weights Thin, Light, Regular and Medium are designed for body text and the Semibold, Bold, Extra Bold and Black weights shine in headlines and posters.

Tlesk supports Arabic, Persian and Urdu and it has been released by Maryamsoft Company.
