2012 One Show PETA-Eating sushi is a crime

'Eating Fish is a Crime' in order to promote PETA and its mission to get people to reconsider killing and eating fish. Our main advertising method is ambient advertising as it is effective, hard to forget and keeps the budget to a minimum.

Sushi contains a variety range of fish, such as tuna, prawn, pctopus, etc. For this project we are using sushi as an example in order to deliver PETA’s mission. Our group have separated this project in two parts.

1)    Part one is using Google map to search for sushi crimes committed in New York city
2)    Part two is the detailed sushi crime scenes in front of the restaurants, which can be found through the Google map.
This a non traditional advertising campaign 'Eating Fish is a Crime' in order to promote PETA and its mission to get people to reconsider killing and eating fish.
We have created a Google Map campaign where people can search for sushi crime scenes committed in New York city.

PETA and Google Map are working together in order to get people to reconsider killing and eating fish. From the PETA homepage, there is a link directing the public to the ‘Sushi Crime Scenes in New York’ page on Google Map. Each red dot represents a sushi restaurant in New York city and each restaurant is considered to be a sushi crime scene. On this page people can find out all the places where fish are being attacked in New York city.
A medical examiner has labelled out where the fish had been attacked outside the restaurant and it is surrounded by the ‘Do Not Cross’ tape where it is made convenient for the police officers to investigate into the crime.
