Compare and contrast
Steven Heller and Erik Spiekermann
Similarities
Both Erik and Steven are users of typography, they both use what means the most to them as a flare to design more and create better work.Designs from both of them are not rare as they have both be experienced for years. They both hold other jobs that connect and contribute to there design work. These are two really good designers. They express themselves and there passion and thats why I think a lot of people like there work.
They both use the similar style of design, this being typography, they both share a love for typography and design a variation of it.They both use quotes and sentences as there main fuel in the design and the quotes which they use have a meaning behind it every time. Both of there messages are similar in the sense of getting to design more and grind for it.The meaning for both of these guys designs comes from there heart. They both use there own original thinking to help them design there work, the work they design can vary from teaching people how to design to how to become a better designer as a whole, both of them seem to aim there work at a younger audience and it displays to them how to become a better artist/designer.
Differences
These two are also different in some ways to,they use different ways to show and display there work,Erik's emotions are present throughout his work very intensely which lead to it being for quite mature audiences as of the use of swear words occur a lot in his work.Where as Steven is alot more closed with his emotions not using swear words in his work but he expresses emotions differently. There artwork is also used and expressed in different ways,Steven uses his books and journalism as a bridge to his artwork e.g designing his own cover for his book and journalism.Erik uses his job at The University as a connection to help get his work out there showing and using his artwork as a example for the students there. They both have different ways of showing there work and its cool to see were it took them.

Both of these talented designers are incredible at what they do and no matter there similarities and differences, they are good artists, they both focus there work on helping other to design and create inspiring artwork. They use different ways to express that but use the same technique of typography to show it.Both Erik Spiekermann and Steven Heller are awesome cool inspiring designers and they help to use there work to benefit all of the other designers.
