The Big Issue is a street magazine that is sold by homeless people (known as vendors) for them to earn an income. Starting in the UK, it expanded to other nations and is now the world’s most widely circulated street magazine.

The Vendor City Guide, a new addition to the magazine, featured a different city every week from the point of view of a vendor who worked and lived there. Custom illustrated maps of each city were used along side the article to tell the vendor’s story of the city. The simple collage style illustrations and hand drawn lettering added a personal touch to the article to help remind the reader who they are supporting when they buy the Big Issue.
