This short film opens the YL male choir’s ”Journey” concerts and doubles as their introduction film in their online communication.
YL has a long history of work with many legendary Finnish composers – most notably Jean Sibelius – but today they’re also interpreters of more contemporary choir music. The challenge we faced was capturing this scale and history in a 2 minute short. Our solution was to turn it into a poetic piece that pays tribute to classic Finnish poster design and the golden age of Finnish art.

We also illustrated brand elements for three of YL's summer concert tours in 2017.
The LEEVIT tour set was a combination of songs by two of Finland's national prides, Leevi Madetoja and Gösta Sundqvist (of Leevi And the Leevings fame). We illustrated the two composers as the signature bird of each artist's municipality. We feel the birds fit both the artists visual appearances as well as their characters.
SUVEN LAULAJAT ("Midsummer Singers") was a series of concerts where smaller fragments of the choir toured Finland. In our concept, a bunch of bunnies presented thse small groups.
