Community Arts Project.
Stevenage Shopping Centre.
Stevenage Shopping Centre.
This project was organised to promote eco-friendly causing and to raise awareness. The client wanted a large sculpture of an animal which was endangered so that local children could come along and help in its construction.
We decided to make a large lion, as the Asiatic lion is currently endangered.
A wire frame was created by my self and then we spent the week in the shopping centre covering one large lion, then a small cub and finally a large patch of grass with tissue paper and recycled textiles.
A total of 250-300 children of all ages took part and the project was a great success.
