Branding Project: Night Owl

For a project in my Design Thinking class, I was given the constraints to design something “for the birds” and to create an interface between birds and humans. The process began with brainstorming and continued with research and a final solution.
I chose to design an owl-inspired 360 camera and drone technology brand that has advanced "night vision" and gives money to owl-conservation charities. Birds in general struggle with loss of habitat, and there have been many owl species to go extinct. Currently there are around 50 out of 225 species of owls that are vulnerable or threatened, including the barn and snowy owl, so the brand would be supporting a worthy cause. The question I formulated after brainstorming would be how might we benefit owls and humans through a philanthropic-centered technology brand?
I started with a mood board that combined brand logos I was inspired by and color scheme and visuals I was interested in. I decided on an earth-toned, eye-owl yellow and green colors. I created a a logo as well as a variation and mockups for a website, Facebook page and limited edition packaging.
As well, I created Project 360 Owl, which benefits the bird species by donating 3.60 percent of profit from each product sold to the World Owl Trust. My goal was to create a brand with consistent and modern design as well as a creative solution that I was passionate about for the constraints.
