Monument
I was very involved with the Halo content creation community from 2010 to 2015. In total, I spent around 1000 hours building maps and game modes. I included this in my portfolio because building these maps taught me a ton about game design and inspired me to seek a career in games.
This map is called Monument. With it, I tried to work the largest buildable space ever released in a Halo game (Halo Reach's Forge World) into a giant 16 vs 16 battlefield. Most Halo maps were designed for 4 person teams, so it was a fun challenge to create a slower-paced outpost-based Halo game.
On the map, two huge bases are separated by a large mountain ridge, with paths leading both over and under the mountains. Each team has three structures of their half of the map: a main base at the back of their zone, a secondary base near the enemy zone, and a lookout tower at a high point in the middle of their zone.
