WPP Adobe Designathon

Hey there!

Welcome to our official WPP Adobe Designathon Behance page!

We will use this as a platform to showcase the amazing, creative, exciting concepts the Designathon teams from across the globe (see below) will come up with!

But first, let's have a general recap on the WPP Designathon.

What is it?

The Designathon is a virtual design competition that involves most of the best WPP creative agencies from all over the world.

It will kick off on Tuesday 13th of November 2018 and final submission of the work is due by the 28th of November, 8pm GMT.

Link to sign up form: Register here TODAY!

The official live kick off will take place from the Adobe CEC, White Collar Factory in London. Live streaming is available here

A recording of the session is accessible here.

Final winners will be announced on this page on the 4th of December 2018 at 3pm GMT.

What can I win?

In addition to the opportunity to show off your creation to the entire network, amazing prizes are up for grabs.

EACH winning team member (up to 3 people) will win an Amazon Gift Card in the following amounts:

- 1st Place: $250
- 2nd Place: $200
- 3rd Place: $150
- 4th Place: $100
- 5th -20th Place: $50

What's the brief?

Use Adobe Xd to prototype a mobile app for one of our key WPP Clients, Unilever.

With your team, choose one of the following Unilever brands: Knorr, Magnum, Dove or Sunlight and develop an app in line to Unilever’s strategic theme: Sustainable Living.

Keep in mind that this is not an RFP. Rather, it is an opportunity to experiment and tap into new directions that your client’s brand can be taken into.

In particular, our panel of judges will value whether you'll be using newly released Xd features, such as:
- Voice interface
- AutoAnimate
- Combinations with other CC technologies
- The huge range of available plug ins and app integrations (list available here).

Excited?

No more information are needed , now just let your creative juices flow!

2018 WPP Adobe Designathon
1. Dove Bloom Up

By Red Ballesteros - Memac Ogilvy Dubai, UAE

Derived from the existing Dove Self-Esteem Project, The Bloom app is targeting and helping teen girls raise their self-esteem, build their confidence from beauty as their source, realizing their full potential. “Bloom”, as how a growing beauty is described, tackles one of the pillars of sustainability which is Social Sustainability. The app helps teens connect to a community whether it’s online chat, sharing their stories , or gathering them together to a social event, activation like workshops and meetups. It also keeps them updated on the latest tips on health, beauty, and how to cope up on life’s challenges. The design overall-feel sticks to the usual Dove’s honest, simplistic, pure design in white, gold, and blue.

Softwares used: Adobe XD used with Voice and Auto-Animate capabilities, Adobe Photoshop for imagery, and Adobe Illustrator for vector iconography.

3. Loren Stick

By Cristiano Alves - Ogilvy Sao Paulo, Brasil

_ insight
Every day people discard their ice cream sticks anywhere. Thinking about this, I created the Loren Stick.

_ idea
The Loren Stick: your DIY Generator. First, you download the app and tell it how many ice creams you will have. Once you inform the number of sticks, the app will give you the answer of what to do with them, like Lorem Ipsum.

Plug-ins: voice, tap and animated transitions.

4. KnorrApp

By Manolis Perrakis, Soenar Santoso, Celine Setiadi - Ogilvy, Hong Kong

The Knorr App generates meals with machine learning to minimise wasted food, time, and money. It uses object recognition algorithms to quickly recognise and catalogue all available cooking ingredients and immediately translates them into a range of easy, healthy, delicious recipes featuring Knorr’s timeless seasonings. Just scan any grocery shopping receipt or point your camera to your grocery basket and the Knorr app will magically show you all possible combinations. We’re tackling the staggering issue of global food waste by solving the problem of personal food management with a tool that empowers us to practice sustainable consumption habits at scale, moving towards making food waste a problem of the past.

7. Sunlight App

By Joshua Gardner, Zach Splan, Mark Borys - Wunderman Los Angeles

At Sunlight, we know how impactful it can be to keep a clean and healthy environment. So, we created an app to encourage just that. The Sunlight app gives users a chance to be rewarded for their sustainable efforts—not only with Sunlight and other Unilever products, but anything that can be recycled. Users will earn cash back on any reusable item, and they’re free to spend it on any Unilever products at any time. By scanning the barcode on a product, the app will identify whether or not it is a reusable resource. If so, the app will assign a value to the item based on demand for that material. For items that are not easily scanned, without a barcode or not traditionally found on store shelves, the app has a voice feature that allows users to describe the product. This informs the user of how and where to dispose of their item. Sunlight is passionate about encouraging sustainable living and a clean environment. That’s why we’ve decided to match any amount of money collected by users and donate it to World Wildlife Fund in order to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. By giving back to both our customers and the planet, the Sunlight app helps make recycling easier and more rewarding.
