Complex shapes can be generated by repeated application of symmetry breaking geometric transformations to elementary shapes. Previous work has demonstrated the ability of the polar coordinate transformation used in conjunction with standard symmetry operations to create unusual and interesting forms. The appearance of these forms is dependent on the operations performed and the order of those operations; a wide variety of images may be generated from a single starting point.
