Task: to create a minimalistic label design for the line of a limited edition barrique plum distillate.
Czech plum distillate is a well-known traditional alcoholic beverage. Originally, it has no color, just a plum flavor. A few years ago, the manufacturer decided to age a batch of high-quality distillate in barrels made of white French oak. An excellent plum beverage was created. Thanks to long-term aging, the distillate took a delicate velvety plum flavor with a hint of sweetness. It also took a bright amber color from barrels. Only 2000 bottles were manufactured, so it was necessary to create a label able to accentuate the uniqueness of each bottle.
Solution.
To distinguish the product from other alcoholic beverages within the same segment, it was decided to develop a laconic label with minimum details. The blend master’s note describing the story of the beverage was added to the label to create the feeling of a human presence behind each bottle (and not only automated production).
The core of the label, however, was a hand-printed stamp. Each bottle was numbered, and a unique number had been added to the label as a stamp. Each of the two thousand stamps was printed manually to create a handcrafted touch. A diversity of labels has appeared on the market shelves, which contributed to an enhanced feeling of choice and enjoyment from buying the only special piece. The combination of plum-colored texts and a bright-red stamp made an attractive and memorable look.
