A strong signal on rough seas

Dieter Braun develops and implements high-quality projects in the areas of real estate, corporate participation, management and investment activities with his company DB Handel & Entwicklung. In order to communicate as an experienced entrepreneur and networking company with a uniform appearance, Dieter Braun has turned to us with confidence.

Our task was to design and implement an individual, elegant and meaningful brand design. Since the diversification of commercial competence did not provide classical symbols or themes as a basis for implementation, a thematic anchor point had to be created as the basis for a succinct storytelling. Based on the character of the terms "trade and development", the maritime business serves as a consistent core metaphor for storytelling. The deliberate enhancement of this transfers the navigator theme to the year 2018, without letting the associated values fall into oblivion.

The central element of the design is the newly designed logo, consisting of the distinct initials "DB". Due to the broad diversification of the business fields, the logo development had to pay particular attention to be a performance-independent recognition symbol. Just as Dieter Braun does for the company, the logo also functions as a "figurehead" and has a clear signaling function. Safety, tranquility, certainty - in the context of its development concepts, DB Handel & Entwicklung takes on the role of the captain and leads through the rough seas. This metaphor comes to bear on the business furnishings again. DB Handel & Entwicklung has set itself the task of providing security through experience and foresight.

Through the design element of a wave in an expressive petrol tone, we manage to symbolize the nature of the sea and represent DB Handel & Entwicklung as a reliable landmark that guides through these rough seas. The navigator’s theme is complemented by a sail signet as an additional identifying feature – as well as the quote "nothing brings more peace, than a decision made," by the French statesman Charles Maurice de Talleyrand – rounding off the business card.

In addition to the petrol tone, the color scheme draws on a striking orange. Both colors are derived from symbolism, on the one hand a classic shade of blue water and on the other hand the brown wood color of an old ship. To ensure maximum reproducibility of the corporate design, the colors were defined individually in Pantone for printing and in RGB for web use.

In addition to business cards, stationery and a modern web presence, we have designed a highlight especially for real estate projects. In cooperation with Römerturm, Gmund Leather Papier we were able to provide the custom color "Peacock" to produce an unique exposé portfolio, that expresses high-quality real estate in a unique way.

By designing a comprehensive storytelling concept, we were able to create a striking and memorable brand. By developing a modern and skillfully accentuated design, the individual elements go hand in hand with the high-quality projects of DB Handel & Entwicklung. The thematic anchor point creates a word-image mark that unites the brand name firmly with the chosen color design and symbolism.
