CROCKENHILL FOOTBALL CLUB
Crest Redesign Concept

Passion project for the rebrand and design of the Crockenhill Football Club crest.

Crockenhill Football Club was founded in 1946 and area Affiliated to the Kent County Football Association. The club are currently members of the Kent County League (Premier Division) and play at Wested Meadow situated in the village of Crockenhill.
Existing Crest
The primary colours utilised by Crockenhill are black, red and white (their kits are normally red and white hoops). The existing crest is split into two elements; the shield and the banner. The shield is split into four sections; the upper two sporting a red background and the lower a white one. In these sections are depicted a farm gate, plough and bundles of wheat. The club initials are also displayed on the border lines of the shield 'CFC'. The banner section contains the teams name.

My initial thoughts are that the initials on the shield 'CFC' are not necessary as the clubs name in full is displayed below. Also the way the three initials are displayed on a four sectioned shield looks odd. The imagery displays elements relating to farm work; wheat being the prominent factor being displayed.

I plan to create a crest that has all the elements displayed in one compact design; and not split in two components. The colours are synonymous with the club and will remain the same. I also plan to take the farming elements displayed in the existing crest and create a single emblem that relates to all the aspects initially portrayed.
The main focus for this design was to simplify the elements displayed on the existing crest and create a modern take on what the imagery represented before. The bold colours synonymous with the club are utilised as the foundations of this new badge.

The circular shield contains all the elements of the design in one area. It forms a solid base for the design and the red fill directly links to the traditional kit used by the club; being red hoops. I chose to include the clubs formation date on the crest design to represent the clubs long history and identity.

The wheat farmer represents the area the club is based. The existing badge utilised bundled wheat heavily on its design as well as a farmers gate and plough. The farmer on the new crest simplifies all those existing elements into a more recognisable emblem.
