Scaled Mock-up models where made out of PU foam, to understand the form, mass and proportions of the bike.
Real Scale Mock-Up was made to get the hands on experience of the design. Proportions and riding positions were adjusted to get the comfortable riding posture. Structure and stability of the design was analysed.
After many iterations on the form and the Drive train Architecture the final design came out to be minimal and light. The Design mimics the crane bird in its form, reflecting the speed and purity.
The Design houses a Hub Motor on the rear wheel and a battery and control unit at the middle, Placed low to the ground to maintain low center of gravity making the bike more stable. There is no fuel tank, instead it opens up enough storage space for he user. The Hub less front wheel has an innovative turning mechanism which is electronically controlled.
The project was exhibited at the famous Design Premiere 2018, by Department of Industrial Design, SPA Delhi, conducted at The India Habitat Center, New Delhi.
