When Rage Productions approached us for the Venue Decor for their Theatre festival, Writers' Bloc-3, at Prithvi Theatre, we created installations that reflected the plays' central theme or mood, and executed them to create the Decor. Here, my group and I conceptualised and executed the installations fot three plays, Natak Nako by Dharmakirti Sumant, Satellite City by Irawati Karnik and Spunk by Siddharth Kumar.
Natak Nako was a very confessional kind of play, so we sought to depict it using open screaming mouths with colourful sarees spilling out.
Satellite City explored people's lives in connection with the television, the idiot box, which became our theme.
Spunk as a play explored relationships of different kinds of people and resulting in a sticky state of affairs, which we depicted using this cellotape-installation.
