POSTER České Hezké

I created the poster series ČESKÉ HESKÉ (The Beautiful Czech) in preparation for my exchange semester at UMPRUM school in Prague. Due to my own czech roots I was highly interested in how czech design scene looks like.
My research of czech visual culture in the present and past eventually merged into those five posters, which introduce three contempo
rary czech design studios and two independent illustration artists.
When presenting the posters I wanted them to look rough and real – and not put them in a glass frame prison. First because a certain roughness is also something that I found elementary in czech visual culture but also because it mirrors the actual reality of posters the best I think, where they are placed in the streets and not in a white cube.

The black and white images placed behind the actual posters are references to czech tv shows and old advertisements, forming the visual and cultural background this project was based on.
