GRD 263: Unified Portraits

My proposal for these images is one for a digital movie campaign; promoting an upcoming Dystopian Sci-Fi film called "The Watchers". The theme for this movie is that the government has inserted modified humans, called "watchers", into the general populous by means of implanting cameras and circuitry into the eyes of unsuspecting civilians. This leads to a situation where people may be spying on their friends and family and not even know it...

The eyes would be featured with circuity/HUD elements overlaid on and around them, along with the text and release date of the movie (like most standard web-based movie ads).

The effects used in this series of portraits is just the three-step B&W trick from our first textbook. After applying this effect (which I coded into an action for extra ease of use), I played around with the gradient some (the adjustment steps that are talked about after the first 3 steps in the book) in order to get the contrast and style that I was looking for. Finally, I cropped the images in so that the left border rested on the eye and the right border extended past the side of the head to give that 'looking around an object' effect.
