Old beech forests, forests not subject to anthropization from the end of the ice age until today. The National Park of Casentinesi forests includes the Integral Reserve of Sasso Fratino, included in the Unesco circuit as a world heritage for its beeches, one of the oldest in Europe, matching the natural features of the Carpathians.
