World is warming and climate is changing. We are experiencing lots of health alerts for extreme heat wave in large parts of southern and western Europe. The heatwaves in the northern hemisphere are linked to global warming and as Myles Allen, a climate scientist at the University of Oxford, said: «there’s no question human influence on climate is playing a huge role in this heatwave».
The Trump administration has unveiled its proposal to weaken an Obama-era regulation designed to limit vehicle emissions, which contribute to climate change.
Trump is a controversial political figure and has been seen as a modern day version of King Louis XIV of France, also known as the Sun King. Medals played a large role in establishing the cult of the Sun King. One in particular got my attention: the Nec Pluribus Impar medal that depicts Louis XIV as the sun warming the earth with the inscription that means “not unequal to many”.
I took inspiration from this medal and designed a poster to focus the attention on Trump’s policies on global warming. The purpose of the poster is to provoke and initiate a discussion around the theme of global warming, depicting a sun with Trump’s appearance and its rays that are roasting the earth while the world population say ironically that «it's getting hot in here» (Nelly - Hot in Herre)
