Advertising & Design Club of Canada - The Working Dead

THE CHALLENGE
The Advertising & Design Club of Canada came to us in search of a concept for their 2012 Call for Entries and Award Show campaign.

THE APPROACH
In the advertising and design industry there are two types of individuals: those individuals who care about doing amazing, world class work and those that do not. The ones that don’t are (in our opinion) zombies. They are, in fact, “The Working Dead.” To illustrate this concept we created an integrated campaign that included (among other things) glow-in-the-dark posters, direct-mail baseball bats, and an awards annual that also doubled as a graphic novel.

The novel is a story about one art director’s journey to create award-winning work despite all of his zombie colleagues who do nothing more than get in his way. The book was divided into six chapters, each one focusing on the category in the annual that it preceded.
