Kirin (or Qilin) is one of the Four Sacred Creatures in Vietnamese and some East Asian countries’ culture, together with Dragon, Phoenix and Turtle. Kirin has dragon-like features, but each culture would portrays It a bit differently. According to the ancient Vietnamese, it looks very much like a traditional lion with a horn. Supposed to bring luck, Kirin Dance (or Lion Dance) is usually performed in festivals or special occasions. In modern Vietnam, it only remains in Mid-autumn festival and has become a symbol of this day.
