Transformation Quartier 4.0

Transformation Quartier 4.0 is a competition by the city of Offenbach. An old railway station has to be transformed into a district of living and working in times of the fourth industrial revolution and the digitalization of work.
The old train tracks are conserved and reused for "driving rooms" which can be rented in all places of the new district and drive to its users. These rooms contain meeting spaces, tools or other resources.
The district contains three different types of building typologies.
The Start-Up Box is created for smaller one-man start ups and have working spaces in the ground floor and living spaces in the first floor. The Boxes are able to connect to others, making it possible for different people to work together.
The Middle-Box is created for bigger groups of people working together. The buildings are complete empty and able to be used in the way the people need it by putting boxes inside which can be used as living-areas, meeting rooms etc. The in-between spaces are used as communication spaces for the people.
The "Row" is for late-sized groups of people. They are neutrally designed and able to adapt to every working situation. The old tracks of the existing railway go through the building in the ground floor, connecting all of them to a network of buildings.
