PORTO 2019
These poster designs and the logo seen on them are the result of a project during a course at ESAD Matosinhos in May 2018.
They were designed to promote a fictional cyclocross event at Parque da Cidade in Porto. When I started working on this project the poster designs of Otl Aicher for the Olympic Games 1972 in Munich were my main inspiration. I like the simple and clean design of them, the color sceme and even without any unnessesary details, they seem to be all in all completed. I am a big fan of minimalism and clean designs and most of the times not very convinced of common sport event ads. I began researching on the web and simple, colorful illustrations and strong typography catched my attention.
The poster backgrounds are all handdrawn with acrylic colours. Afterwards I scanned and edited them with Adobe Photoshop. Moreover the paintings build one big artwork if you put them together. The Logo comes in white on all poster designs.
