pixy is an application which uses genetic algorithm to generate imagery and animation under a guidance of a user. It renders visuals based on mathematical equations with variables for x and y locations of a pixel. Equations are generated via node system, where each node represents simple mathematical expression.

In the beginning of generative process nodes are constructed randomly for each sample image. Then user is encouraged to choose samples, nodes of which mutate and merge, producing new images. The process is repeated until appealing results are discovered.

pixy is built with processing and glsl shaders. It can be downloaded here (unstable).
