The humble beauty of Dorset

The humble beauty of Dorset

I have long relished the beauty of Dorset's rugged but charming jurassic coastline.
With its Tolkienesque rolling hills and white chalk cliffs.

The fisherman

A cove offers the waves a sheltered respite, a break amidst the crashing of tide.
"Here!", a boy sounds, as burly fishermen pull in among white horses.

Rowland sinks both oars into the dark water, carefully floating his tender to preserve such stillness.
The quiet meandering water allows him a deep, yawning breath.

Feeling the wind move with hurried care, as it races up and around his nostril hair.

The sound of sliding pebbles draws him out from idle thought.
He walks on home with eyes knowing what sea fought.
