Alternate Skies – experimental photography

This was a free assignment for a photography project. Using different types of plastic bags and fabrics, I tried to catch glimpses of light and shadows, creating surreal spheres in various colors. Using a projector afterwards to further change color and texture of the photographs, i created two same but different images.
The final book portrays my photographs ranging from light to dark. Each double page shows one original and its projected copy side by side for comparison. Using thick Munken paper for printing, the rough texture added a slight grain to the photographs, adding to the surreal feeling of not quite knowing what the image is made up of. Before hand-binding the book i chose neutral bookbinding carton to letterpress both book covers.
thank you.
