Art Supplies I Have Acquired: book experiment

My directives for this project were to create a catalog in a non-traditional format. A catalog, by definition is "a complete list of items, typically one in alphabetical or other systematic order" so I decided to ironically focus on something with very little order: my art supplies. I selected a variety of items that I had been using in my drawing and painting classes and, after photographing them, brought them into my catalog. Next to each item is its name, place of purchase, date of purchase, and two facts.

The format of my catalog is meant to mirror the physical prescence of my supplies. As the amount of supplies seems to overwhelm and take over the space they are kept in, so does the catalog. It starts out as a compact 8x6in booklet but unfolds out into a 72in wide poster, reavealing more and more supplies as it goes.
