Z-fixie (2012) :
A concept fixie with Z-shaped frame

In fact, I was quite interested in the bike. If I could name some of the best products that keep people moving creatively in human history, one of them is a bicycle.

The Z-fixie is designed to look cool and stylish with a chic Z-shaped frame that connects the basic geometry and components of the bike, including the top tube, seat tube, bottom bracket and chain stays. The lamps integrated in the frame, the body frame profile and the aero-spoke wheel designed for a sense of unity make the appearance more unified and sporty. In addition, it is fully compatible with the specifications of the ready-made parts present in the market, so you can upgrade parts according to your preference.

Traditionally, the down tube and the chain stay are welded to the bottom bracket and seat stay and top tube are welded to the bottom of the seat tube. The upper end is welded to form diamond-like geometry. This diamond geometry is a concept that has a history of more than 100 years. Of course the history of the bicycle is much older.

My question was whether there is a frame concept that is simpler than diamond geometry, but still maintains stability. The concept of Z-Fixie was born by connecting the down tube and the seat stay with a single curve based on the frame that is visually connected to the Z shape, and passing it through the seat tube.

After releasing this concept design online in 2012, a lot of inquiries from around the world have arrived. For example, how much can you buy? In your own country, can you make a deal with a distributor? There was also a fairly famous Hollywood actor among them. In fact, one of the abilities that a designer has is to make things look absurd. It looks like it looks pretty. Some of them were manufacturers, but most wanted to make a similar impression on the frame they already had, not those who were investing in new product development. That's how it costs money. Lastly, after I contacted a Hong Kong manufacturer, I did not actively take action to provisionally go to manufacturing. But the opportunity is still open! (Please contact us if you are interested in manufacturing)

Oh, the fun part of the experience was to contact Mr. Pascal who would like to collect interesting bicycle concepts from around the world and publish them as a collection book, and the publishing project was done, and the book was completed and safely shipped home in 2015!
