This logo design for the cafe in southern Thailand. After combined some research with the client's brief thus idea of Yak was coming. Yak is the Thai word means giant, ogre, or demon which represents of strength.
Yak is a pronunciation form Thai word, which mean ogre or monster in folktale. Normally Yak is appearing in many of country in Asia Pacific zone, but most famous in Thailand from sculptures and walls illustrated in every temple and The Grand Palace.
The inspiration has come from the Thai giants, they were appearing in folk tales, myth, and fantasy book but also in the grand palace wall. The designs have separated to two parts including the calligraphy and an emblem will be given following these ;
1. the emblem I have tried to simplified the ogre's face.
2. calligraphy is the most challenge part from mix the Thai and English words within the cubic form.
