Inspiration:
Chernobyl is an industrial lamp. When viewed from above, it is similar to the radiation symbol, and that’s where the name come from.

Unique Properties / Project Description:
Using geometric shapes and industrial style, Chernobyl luminaire was designed to express the urban concept and it is well represented with the use of carbon steel and tubes.
Chernobyl is a decorative object and at the same time a conceptual lamp.
Its appearance transmits resistance by its rigid form and also lightness weight by its transparency.

Project Duration and Location:
The project began in October 2017 and was completed in April 2018. It started in Santos SP and was completed in Sao Paulo SP, Brazil.

Production / Realization Technology:
Chernobyl is produced in flat carbon steel bar of 20mm wide and 2mm thick. Next to it is fixed a wire screen that serves to make its dome. This dome is supported on a structure made of 10mm cylindrical bar and 10mm square bar. A 60mm cylindrical tube is also supported on the base, which includes the e27 lamp nozzle. The entire structure of the luminaire has an electrostatic paint finish.

Research Abstract:
The main goal to accompany a true trend that is increasingly present in contemporary decorations, the industrial style inspired us to create the Chernobyl lamp.
The intention was to bring a little urban charm into the environment.

Challenge:
The biggest challenge when designing a piece is to think about every aspect of the project. This includes all segments from the execution of the part to the final customer, production, costs, target audience and marketing.
