Music from Turn of the Century

A concert visual for "Music from Turn of the Century" by Ding Yi Music Company, in collaboration with Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. This design makes use of monochromatic tones with a splash of green to bring out the contemporary aspect of its repertoire. The title block plays with perspectives in a literal attempt of bring across the "turn" element of its name. Finishing off the design are organic drawings juxtaposed with the strong lines to represent the organic sounds featured in one of the highlights of the concert, Chen Yi’s Song of Five, in which soloist, Chu Yi-Bing, attempted to recreate raw sounds of 5 Chinese instruments with cello.
