Award Winning Short Film - PAUSE

PAUSE
This short film visualises the experience of a patient with dementia; a neurodegenerative disease where patients suffer from symptoms like memory loss, difficulty in language or motor skills, disorientation or confusion, mood swings, and personality changes.

This film is presented from the point of view of a first person, and focuses on the feeling of frustration and confusion when living in the familiar environment of home feels strangely foreign. The passing of time is no longer relevant; what used to be where? Who used to be what? There are moments, however, when everything is crystal clear, and they can remember. Remember their family members, their loved ones. Every puzzle piece seemed to fit in its place; everything make sense. Don’t you wish that moment can last forever?

This animation aims to raise awareness regarding the topic matter, showing the first hand experiences of dementia in an attempt to encourage audience to empathetically connect with patients, becoming more understanding to their everyday struggles.
