Pedagogic
Visic is a pedagogical language that enables people to read and understand brass band music. Too many individuals have preconceived ideas about classical and brass band music; they think of them as old-fashioned and they falsely believe that they are addressed to experts only.
Typography
Composed of minimalist graphic signs, this language aims to ease people’s understanding of a musical note’s evolution within a music sheet. Furthermore, these basic symbols make them aware of the fact that a musical note can be characterized by its length, its dynamic and its articulation. While associated with a visual and acoustic installation, one realizes that one does not necessarily need to be highly knowledgeable about this particular kind of music to actually enjoy it. This at first sight rather strict language becomes completely different when linked to some sound.
