The history of this illustration begins in 2003.
Somehow thinking about the incredible world popularity of the image of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, I came to the conclusion that this is because such oddities should be for every people. And every man in his life ever met this couple. And it seemed to me amusing to collect all of them in one place. Make a sort of world congress Don Quixote. What a wonderful contrast we would see.

So the first pencil sketch appeared.

But then he abandoned and returned only after a couple of years and sketched a gouache in 2005.

In 2009 I bought a graphic tablet and decided to do this work in digital format. I must admit that it did not start right away with the tablet. In the end, I remained dissatisfied with the result. And postponed the work until better times.

And now the present time has come. I have new knowledge and ideas in digital technologies. I decided that I still get better with a pencil. You just need to combine the merits of numbers and traditional materials. I printed out an easy drawing and drew it in pencil. Then the scanner, then a small erasure in the graphics editor, and here's the result, which more or less I already like.

However, the work is not finished. I believe that I will return to it.
