URBEX: CONSONNO | Abandoned city

In 1962 Mario Bagno, Count of Valle dell'Olmo, an entrepreneur in the real estate sector, bought the entire territory of Consonno, a small village on the Monte di Brianza.
The Count's purpose was to create a sort of Las Vegas, with hotels, restaurants, a Chinese pagoda, a Medieval castle, shops and various attractions.
In 1976 a landslide destroyed the road that led to Consonno. The Count had it repaired  and tried to revive Consonno but now the tourists' attention was directed to other places of entertainment and even the few remaining inhabitants left the village.
