"Modelling the Space" Contemporary Art Exhibition
This exhibition features the works of selected contemporary artists from Saint-Petersburg and Moscow who confront the inner and outer spheres, study the concept of home, memory and attachment to the place. Acting as researchers, exhibition participants create models of the surrounding world and mark the place with their stay in it. Old maps lose their old codes and become a new coordinate system, and walks turn into a bodily experience of understanding territories, eliminating the discreteness of our perception.
An open conversation with the exhibition curators led to the metaphorical perception of the words "modelling" as the exhibition name and "modular" as one of the main design principles. A module behind all identity shapes gives that unnatural structured touch to the natural exhibition topics, their diverse application of the materials and techniques.
