PHL Participatory Design Lab

PHL Participatory Design Lab’s logo was created by subtracting elements from the letters of the words “PHL Participatory Design Lab.” Such subtraction of elements was carefully analyzed, so it did not affect the logos’s readability. Its incompleteness invites viewers to, cognitively, complete the logo making them participants of the creative design process while reflecting the core principles of the PHL Participatory Design Lab. In addition to the logo, Icons and a pattern were created from the subtracted parts of the letters. This addition completed a cohesive identity for the PHL Participatory Design Lab.
