Google Dodge The Hacks | Advertising Concept

Brief
Google gets a lot of bad press these days as most of the other tech companies. People get more and more dependant of their services: Maps, Agenda, Search and many more. And because of this, they start to feel a bit defiant, as Google is collecting more and more data about everyone. So a lot of them start to reconsider open source alternatives, such as Firefox for their web browser.

Thoughts
In order for Google to regain people's trust, I thought it would be interesting for them to take a stand for a cause. Something they would support and that would be a benefit for everyone without any direct income for them. That way, they can use their company size in order to build something better for everyone.
Concept
So I created Dodge The Hacks. It would be a conference held at the Los Angeles Convention Center about internet security. It may sound conventional, but the conference would be held by hackers. This wouldn't be a demonstration of "How to hack your neighbour", but they would share the common tricks used by hackers to get what they want, and how to protect yourself from it. And doing so, attendants would understand better how hackers work, and more efficient in being safe.

Art Direction
The art direction on this project is quite different compared to the what we know from Google. But internet security is for most people a very uninteresting topic, so a more unique and unusual route may be the solution. I used glitch effects to remind the most unique thing of the conference, being that it is hosted by hackers.

Online Game
To share the conference, I thought it would be interesting to create a game, because it's a way to talk about it, but also to learn something while having fun. So the game is very easy, you have a pop-up appearing on screen with a message, an email, an internet page or anythong that could be a trick. You have two choices, wether you Buy it because it looks trustfull to you, or you Dodge it if you think it looks fishy. If you are wrong, you get a explanation of what were the clues you should have picked up to spot it was a malicious message.
Street Marketing
The street marketing operation would be a screen in the middle of a street. You'd see pop-ups appearing endlessly, as they are a big representation of a malfunctioning computer. Thanks to a camera placed above the screen, the pop ups would follow people as they walk across it. The point is to put internet in the real life. For casual users, clicking on a pop-up may not sound like a bad idea, but they wouldn't trust it as they are following them in the street.
