˝These animals have gone bad. They're killing each other.˝
Perro come perro (2008) is a colombian film that tells the story of a botched deal and how, pretending to fix it, personal vendettas are forged between the main characters, Víctor Peñaranda y Eusebio Benítez, who find themselves harassed by the power of a drug lord called El Orejón. Mobsters, violence, family and witchcraft are intertwined in these urban yet wild Cali, apparently outside of time.

The project goes along an extensive process of comprehension, analysis and proposal of a piece, the film's poster, in which I synthesize the spirit and the formal and emotional characteristics that the movie communicates. The process started by developing a document compilating the objective analysis of the film and a second document that recreates the sensations and perceptions of the movie via photos taken by the student, who tries to capture the essence of the film without referencing it explicitly. The final piece delivered is the poster, developed from scraps and collages up to the final picture, done again by the student as if producing a poster for a client in real life.

For these poster, my proposal was based on the concept of the animal nature within every person. The co-existence of these two dimensions of ourselves is chaotic and violent, when the animal nature takes power by overriding our rational thought and driving our actions by instinct.
