In this book, made with a hard cover and different types of paper, is represented the chapter “Le città e la memoria 3” that is about the city of Zaira.
The paper differs according to the content: for the picture that portrays the zinc sheet (lamina di zinco) I used Fedrigoni's "Constellation Jade", but in other sections, as you can see in the last pictures, where the content evoked lines and shapes I decided to play a game of transparencies by using GSK Paper.
Published in 1972, “Le città invisibili” is a novel by Italo Calvino where he recurs to the combinatorial literature technique.
The combinatorial game comes from the novel's structure: each chapter is introduced and closed with a dialog between Marco Polo e Kublai Khan.
