'SLANTED' is a set of three wooden bowls which is inspired by the concept of three natural elements. Earth, water and fire. Each bowl represents an element with its individual quality that includes rigidity and flow. The entire concept revolves around the idea of polarized forces which is defined through the characteristic of rigid versus smooth and stable versus unstable.
Each of the bowls of the 'SLANTED' family are made of solid timber. The major process involved is wood-turning. This process requires delicate hand movements with patience and perseverance. Solid timber is trimmed until it gets to the desired form according to the template. The angled cut on the top of all my bowls are achieved manually by hand saw.
'SLANTED' is a set of three multi functional wooden bowls which are made of different sizes. The set consist of a big size bowl, a medium size bowl and a small size bowl. It is designed to hold various items such as liquid substances, food or even a plant. It could be used as eating utensils or as a decorative item.
The bowls are designed to create various visual perception upon looking at different angles.
A consequential progression outline can be seen from the top view. The bowls may look slanted but actually, it is resting firmly on a flat base. Thus, showing the factor of stable versus unstable. A visual dynamism quality can be seen when the bowls are stacked up.
