Crate Collection Studies

Antiques have always been intriguing to me. Every object is unique and has a separate history of its own. Each object exhumes its own story. Every stain, warp, every rip and tear all created a different way. Something as simple as a palette or font has the ability to suggest a time frame. When looking at my surroundings I often find that the small details are the most enticing.  By magnifying a small sections of each object; something, which is often overlooked, one isencouraged to examine those small details. The aspects of decay are what give each piece its character much like humans. These paintings capture a moment of time but they also become maps of the passage of time.
