In the future, postsocialist blocks of flats will be a real challenge for city authorities. To destroy or renovate, and maybe use new technologies. One of the biggest problems of modern "refreshed" blocks from a large slab are aesthetic issues. Doubtful aesthetic quality blocks the landscape. Looking at it from another point of view, without insulating buildings are becoming increasingly uneconomical. The laws ennobling the energy requirements of buildings are tightened, which means that the future belongs to zero-energy buildings. Massive blocks of flats create a separate microclimate which is significantly influenced by gusts of wind noticeable in virtually every housing estate with high blocks. Using new technologies, we wanted to change the thinking about blocks that fulfill the only residential function. Utilizing kinetic energy thanks to the frame made of piezoelectric generators on which Cembrit perforated fiber-cement boards are mounted, we create a specific power plant.
