Frederika “Fraka” Harmsen: Adventurous Explorer
Frederika “Fraka” Harmsen is a geologist whose research projects have taken her all over the world. From 1991 to 1992, Fraka Harmsen, along with three other scientists worked in Antarctica collecting fossil fish material in southern Victoria Land. One of three fossil sharks found in Middle-Late Devonian Aztec siltstone, is named Aztecodus harmsenae, in Harmsen’s honor.
