• I tried to focus on the businesses of the company. So i tried some versions to keep the image both alive and to the point. Tried to keep the details less visible than the businesses but enough to underline some life around the company.
• After some serious attempts i just decided to make a decent polygon model of the map. Since it's the best way that i can think of to texture it. No splines, nurbs, or texture displacement maps worked as the way i wanted. So i modelled the map resulting many many polygons :) Then distorted it using the deformers to bend and curve as the world's shape. Which as a result made it harder to put the other objects on because of the round shape. What i found as a solution to this problem was using a constraint tag and clamping the object to the surface. But this caused some other problems when i tried to edit the object since the axis is uncontrollably changed. It's then i decided to use XRef objects. This way i managed to keep the main objects on the map editable. This took some time but made it easier to do further edits.
• Please leave a comment if you have or can think of any other easier way. I am always happy to learn new methods.
