Juventude Sónica

Juventude Sónica is a project that deals with the influence of post-punk in a portuguese context. Through a parallelism between two musical projects: Sonic Youth and Linda Martini, analyzes the direct and indirect influences of each musical projects, and especially the way this fact is reflected in their graphic identities.

The project consists of a single object, special edition, which will include a vinyl, stickers and two publications: one about Linda Martini and another about Sonic Youth, which work individually or in a simultaneous reading, complementing and allowing a parallelism and a comparison between the two bands.

With inspiration in the visual image of these two musical projects, we resort to a manuality in the lettering (original typography), textures and drawing accompanied by the contrast black&white, that is reflected in the course of the publication with the passage of a rigid language for a loose and expressive language (creating a gradual expressive liberation).

It is an experimental project that reflects an underground and cult mentality, about bands that were based on the space and time they were inserted, in the mentality of the society and culture of their times that mirror a certain do it yourself style.
