Information Communication Framework: BMTC Public Bus Service in Bangalore
The motivation behind this project, is to conceptualise an information communication framework for the BMTC public bus service in Bangalore, which can improve the experience of using the service. A framework like this covers various aspects of the service such as bus routes information, bus timings, location of bus stops, etc.
The focus area of this project lies in improving the accuracy and reliability of the bus timings, by incorporating crowdsourcing. Through crowdsourcing the transit data from the users of the service, we can create a framework that is dynamic in nature, reliable and easy to access. This can improve the experience of using the BMTC bus service, which in turn will have a positive impact on the perception, that people tend to have, of travelling by public buses.
